LaTEX – Accessible Math
Anthony Janolino, SFU student, will introduce LaTex as an accessible math tool and focus on how it can be used to make even university math accessible for the visually impaired student.

Barbara Miles is a communication specialist/consultant and teacher, experienced with all ages and levels of persons who are deaf-blind. Talking the Language of the Hands is a two part presentation. Join this keynote speaker to discuss and consider strategies for working with students with deafblindness.
Building Resiliency
Dr. Roberta Heaven - psychologist and team leader with the Visual Impairment Programme, Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. Dr. Heaven will present on understanding the importance of support and building of resiliency for children with visual impairments.
Secondary Transitions
Join this dynamic duo, Vince Tomasetti, is the Vision Technology Specialist at Assistive Technology – BC and Mike Lonergan, Program Director with BC Blind Sports. Vince and Mike will discuss post secondary transitions – how can we best prepare our students?

Dr. Johanne Brodeur, is the head of the Music Therapy Department, Victoria Conservatory of Music. Dr. Brodeur will share her practical experiences as she has been a clinician specializing in paediatric music therapy for over 25 years.

Jane Litman, TVI & District Learning Support Teacher, SD 61, Victoria. A practical look at building story boxes and engaging your students on the road to literacy.
